After a short climb, arrive at Shyala Village, surrounded by panoramic views of Himalchuli, Peak 29,, Manaslu, and Ganesh Himal. Take time to soak in the awe-inspiring landscapes before continuing on a gradual trail to Samagaon ( also called Samaryo)-a large, culturally rich Tibetan village nestled beneath the towering face of Mt. Manaslu. The village is home to ancent monasteries, yak pastures, and traditional stone houses. It`s the perfect place to experience local culture and prepare for higher altitudes.

Spend a well-deserved rest day in the stunning village of Samagaon, perfectly positioned beneath the towering peak of Mt. Manaslu. This acclimatization day is essential for adjusting to the altitude while allowing time to explore the cultural and natural wonders of the region.

In the morning, take a short and scenic hike to Birendra Tal, a beautiful glacial lake located at the base of Manaslu Glacier. The turquoise water, set agnaist a dramatic Himalayan backdrop, offers a peaceful and photogenic spot perfect for reflection and rest. Along the way, pass ancient mani walls, traditional houses, and lpcal yak pastures.

In the afternoon, explore the Pungyen Gompa, a serene Monastery perched on a ridge with spectacular views of the glacier and surrounding peaks. You can also spend time walking through the village, interacting with the friendly locals and learning about their Tibetan-influenced culture and lifestyle.

This rest day not only support your altitude adjustment but also deepens your connection to landscape, people, and spiritual energy of the Manaslu region.

After a peaceful night in Samagaon, begin your trek with a gentle ascent through wide yak pastures and juniper-scented alpine landscapes. The trail gradully climbs above the tree line, offering expansive view of Mount Manaslu, glacirs, and surrounding snow-capped peaks.

As you trek northward, you1ll follow the Budi Gandaki River and pass Mani walls, ancient chortens, and prayer flags fluttering in the mountain breeze-each telling stories of Tibetan Buddhist heritage deeply rooted in this region.

The air becames thinner but the trail remains moderate and scenic. After crossing a wooden bridge, the path gently rises toward the small, windswept village of Samdo, located just a few kilometers from the Tibetan border. Samdo is a traditional Tibetan rufugee settlemnt, rich in culture and authenticiy. You`ll see people spinning prayer wheels, herding yaks, and living in harmony with the rugged mountain enviromnment.

This short trek day is ideal for acclimatization and offers one of the most culturally immersive experiences of the Manaslu Circuit Trek.

Begin your day with a steady climb from the traditional Tibetan village of Samdo, heading toward the high alpine zone. The trail today is short but vital for acclimatization as you prepare to cross the Larkya La Pass the next day.

Trek through barren landscapes and across glacial streams, with dramatic views of Larkya Peak, Manaslu North, and the Syacha Glacier. The scenery becomes more rugged and remote, with a stark beauty that defines this high-altitude wilderness.

En route, you may pass yak caravans and encounter blue sheep grazing on the slopes. The silence of the trail, broken only by mountain winds and distant rockfalls, gives a sense of true Himalayan isolation.

You`ll reach Dharamasala, also known as Larkya Phedi, a basic stone-built shelter at the base of the Larkya La Pass. Though accommmodation is simple, the location is dramatic-surrounded by towering peaks and glaciers. Rest well here and hydrate properly in preparation for the most challenging and rewarding day of the Trek.

Today markes the most challenging and rewarding day of Manaslu Circuit Trek. Begin early in the morning, usually before sunrise, to ensure stable weather condition for crossing the Larkya La Pass (5,160m)-one of the longest and most dramatic Himalayan Passes.

The trail starts with a gradual ascent over rocky moraines and glacial terrain, gaining altitude steadily. As you climb higher, the landscape opens up to a surreal alpine world with panoramic views of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kang Guru, and the Annapurna II range. Prayer flags at the top of the Pass mark your achivement- an unforgettable highlight of the trek.

After celebrating the summit with photos and breathtaking views, begin a long descent along a steep, rocky trail that later flattens into grassy meadows and rhododendron forests. The scenery transforms quickly from icy wilderness to luch greenery as you reach Bhimtang, a beautiful valley surrounded by snowy peaks.

After a peaceful night in the scenic alpine valley of Bhimtang, begin your descent toward lower elevations. The trailoffers a refreshing change in landscape-from glacial moraine and snowy peaks to lush forests and vibrant hillsides. As you trek downhill, enjoy spectacular views of Mount Manaslu, Lamjung Himal, Himlung Himal, and Cheo Himal behind you.

Cross the wooden bridge over the Dudh Khola River and enter dense forests of pine, oak, and rhododendron. The air becames warmer and richer in oxygen as you lose altitude, and you`ll pass through beautiful yak pastures and seasonal herding settlements.

After about 5-6 hours of scenic and moderate trekking, you`ll arrive at Gowa, a peaceful village surrounded by greenery and a perfect place to relax after the challenging day of high-altitude trekking. This section is a favorite among trekkers for its rich natural beauty and sense of tranquility.

Gegin your final day on trekking trail with a pleasant descent from Gowa, following a well-defined forested path through the lower Himalayan foothills. The trail passes through rich temperate forests of oak, maple, and rhododendron, gradually revealing more signs of human settlement and cultivated land.

A you descend further, you`ll pass Tilije Village, a large and lively settlement inhabited mostly by Gurung and Tamang communities. This village showcases traditional stone houses, terraced field, and local lifestyle deeply rooted in agriculture and Himalayan trade. it`s an excellent place to observe the cultural transition from the high Tibetan-influenced mountain regions to the mid-hill communities of Nepal.

Continuing from Tilje, the trail merges into a wider path and eventually joins the main Annapurna Circuit route as you reach Dharapani-a busy trekking hub located at confluence of the Dudh khola and Marsyangdi Rivers. The region`s geography changes significantly here, with warmer weather, greener hills, and modern infrastructure like lodges, shops, and communication access.

Dharapani marks the completion of your adventurous and culturally rich Manaslu Circuit Trek. Celebrate your achivement with a well-earned rest and prepare for the return journey to Kathmandu.

After completing your unforgettable trek, begin the journey back toward the lowlands with a jeep drive from Dharapani to Besisahar. The drive takes approximately 4 to 5 hours, depending on road and weather conditions.

The road is rugged and off-road in nature, especially in the upper sections — often bumpy, narrow, and winding as it follows the Marsyangdi River valley. You'll pass through charming villages like Tal, Chamje, and Jagat, where cascading waterfalls, steep cliffs, and terraced fields dominate the landscape.

As the drive continues downhill, the terrain gradually softens, and you’ll see more agricultural activity and denser settlements, reflecting the transition from Himalayan highlands to mid-hill regions. Despite the rough trail, the scenery is spectacular — offering a last glimpse of the rivers, lush hills, and traditional life of rural Nepal.

Upon reaching Besisahar, the district headquarters of Lamjung, check in to a local guesthouse or hotel. Enjoy a relaxing evening in this lively town, marking the end of your Manaslu adventure before continuing back to Kathmandu the next

After breakfast in Besisahar, begin your return journey to Kathmandu along the Prithvi Highway, one of Nepal’s main road networks. The drive offers a rich transition through Nepal’s middle hills and river valleys, providing a final chance to witness the country's diverse landscapes and local life.


The road from Besisahar to Dumre is relatively narrow and winding, often unpaved or partially graveled in rural stretches. Once you join the Prithvi Highway at Dumre, the drive becomes smoother with a blacktopped road leading all the way to Kathmandu. Occasional traffic congestion and roadwork are common, especially near urban areas.


Travel through the picturesque Marshyangdi and Trishuli River valleys, passing steep terraced hillsides, dense forests, and scattered villages perched on hills. As you descend, the climate gets warmer and the scenery greener, revealing Nepal’s rich subtropical mid-hills.

Along the way, observe vibrant local life—farmers working in terraced fields, children walking to school, roadside markets bustling with fresh produce, and traditional villages with clay houses and tin roofs. Small tea shops, temples, and prayer flags add character to the roadside settlements.

Arrive in Kathmandu by late afternoon or early evening and transfer to your hotel. After days of adventure in the remote Himalayas, the bustling capital city welcomes you back with modern comforts and a wide choice of dining and relaxation options.
